Absolutely new and revolutionary – Glass filter media Diamond Kleen™ Biodesign pools have a special filtering system that uses Diamond Kleen ™, recycled glass granules (100% melted silicon), substituting the use of silica sand. Thanks to its physical characteristics, it inhibits the proliferation of bacteria and more efficiently captures impurities in the water, detaining them in the filter. Diamond Kleen™ is made from 100% recycled fused silicon dioxide (glass) and acts as a smarter alternative to silica sand and zeolite: traditional sand filters offer a fertile breeding ground for the development of dangerous bacteria: laboratory tests have shown that on 1cm2 of sand inside a filter it is possible for up to 2.5 million bacteria. In the same identical conditions on 1cm2 of Diamond Kleen™ less than 10 bacteria were found.

The heat sterilised recycled media provides improved purity offering a superior filtering media. When compared to regular sand, Diamond Kleen™ filtration media saves up to 25% of water through less frequent backwashing*.

The granules of vetro do not block the filter and the volume of the filter bed compared to sand is substantially increased, improving the filtering action of the filter. Diamond Kleen ™ glass is the only glass for specific use in filters to have obtained the “Smart Approved Watermark” in Australia, thanks to the savings in water consumption that it guarantees. It furthermore ensures substantial economical savings, thanks to a reduced use of chemicals, with a lower quantity of chemical substances introduced into our ecosystem.
